The quality of the dialogue between the client and the architect is crucial for the final result. It is for this reason that at the beginning of every cooperation, we pay great attention to gaining insight in the housing request of the client. Formulating the request is more important than providing answers, because if the request is not clear, then the right answers cannot be given. By being open to the clients’ wishes, we can act as a good sounding board and formulate a programme of requirements together. Respect, trust and expertise thus characterise the initial phase, in which there is no room for partiality.
