THE BUILDING

The main mass of the building is characterised by a triangular shape, whereby one of the walls is curved. The long, curved facade faces the car park in front of it.

This curved facade distinguishes itself by the fact that part of it ‘rises up’ like a wave. In addition the effect of this ‘wave’ is emphasised because the window frames in the facade gradually ‘tip over’, from left to right. The facade thus portrays the dynamics and movement of the educational institute that it accommodates. The ‘wave’ also creates a covered entrance that stands out and is recognisable. Horizontal strip windows characterise the two straight walls.

The building for the new academy naturally forms the transition from the car park to the existing swimming pool and sports centre.
