THE BUILDING

The school is, spaciously and functionally, set up around the centrally situated communal area. Together with the play group this forms a multifunctional area that can easily be rearranged by means of mobile walls.

This area is situated in the middle of various classrooms and support rooms. The toddler and infant classrooms are next to the play room and the group rooms next to the communal area. The section with the service functions (kitchen, staff and meeting and IB/RT rooms) complement the revolving motion.

Every part has its own entrance that ensures that the user is immediately led to the right place.

The front of the existing school (two classrooms) and the adjoining school house will be maintained. The extensions that, over the course of time have been made to the side and back of the building will be demolished. This will restore the building’s old and characteristic appearance on the side of the Kerkweg. The new building, located at the side and back, will be contrasting, sustainable and modern in its appearance.
