As far as the design is concerned, the building fits in with the hospital, which was built in phases. Larger rooms at the front stick out and this ‘oriel’ is continued over the roof like a rib in order to provide light inside. A display window has been cut out, ‘worn away’ by the main stream of visitors, in the front wall. The main stairwell is at the back, at the cross piece with two other building sections, in order to make it possible to connect it to the new part to be built at a later stage.
