Furore

In the design for the apartment complex Furore in Hillegom, the contrast between the classical, monumental villas and the traditional bulb sheds located in the Stationsweg are reflected in the architecture. The building is divided into two volumes, both of which reflect the bulb shed in their contour and high windows. The volume on the road side is a little more lavish as far as the architecture is concerned, with ridge boards, a grand entrance and alternating stone courses, thus making Furore fit in so well with the surrounding characteristic mansions and villas. On the outskirts of the bulb fields, there is a carefully detailed, more austere volume. The two volumes are connected by means of a transparent entrance area and the penthouses on the third floor.
