The starting point for the project area is that the private areas are restricted in a high-quality and spaciously set up public area – both the inner area as well as the area outside the block of houses. The houses, surrounding walls and the inner area are meticulously and coherently detailed.
This concerns (almost) a quarter of a circle, with apartments situated at the corners and houses on the boundaries. The architecture is largely made up of traditional masonry and roofs with ceramic roof tiles. The individuality of both the houses and the apartment blocks is emphasised by means of projections in the front walls and height. In some places there are features in the way of brick ‘towers’.
One of the apartment buildings with seventeen rental homes has been assigned to us by the house-building corporation Parès. The parking spaces are situated in the inner area, at ground floor level. Individual storage space has been incorporated in the roof. The other two apartment buildings are for sale and parking facilities are in the basement.
There are three types of houses divided according to the different sides of the blocks of houses. The most basic ones are situated near the through road. Three small towers make up the features. The roofs and front walls of the houses at the fish passage are staggered and the houses by the river the Oude Ijssel are made up of a plinth with individually recognisable constructions with a pent roof.
