The Parkstede in Rijssen will be renovated. The existing nursing home no longer meets with the present norms for accommodation and care. For this reason it has been decided to build new apartments in which out-patient care can be provided. Two of the four existing buildings on the grounds will be replaced.
The two new buildings, villas, will be located amongst the lawns. An apartment building in 1930s style with 30 residential care apartments will be built on the corner of Oosterhofweg / Parkstede. On the south side of this building, 23 luxury owner-occupied apartments with a basement car park will be built in luxury villa style. All the apartments and entrances will be made accessible for wheelchair users.
In the existing layout three of the four buildings are connected, making it difficult to use the lawns in the inner area for recreation. In the new plan all the buildings, including the existing ones, will be given a new entrance by the inner lawns. This green heart originates in the Park and the lawns on the east side of the plan and is incorporated in the grounds as much as possible.
The building with the residential care apartments will include a grand café with a terrace situated in the green heart. The existing chapel will also be replaced by a meditation centre that can also be used for church services when enlarged using part of the grand café.
