THE DESIGN

The demolition of the industrial property will leave two openings; one to the Joncheerelaan and the other to the Limburg Stirumstraat. The opening in the Joncheerelaan will be closed by building two houses that will be in keeping with the architectural style of the existing houses in the road. In the Limburg Stirumstraat 22 houses with a patio will be built. Taking into consideration the fact that this new mini estate will be situated amongst the back gardens of the surrounding houses, it will have its own individual character.

Boundary walls in striking colours will be used to connect the groups of houses, to create communal public spaces and to separate these from the surrounding back gardens. The windows of the houses will either face this new public space or their own patio. The result of this design is a sheltered mini estate that is clearly connected and that has its own identity, in an attractive area in Nijverdal.
