The structure of ‘Barchem’ station has been interpreted in the structure of the new house on the hill. The shape of the roof with its dormers and balconies form the inspiration for the main structure. The shapes of the church windows can, among other things, be seen in the construction of the rafters above the balconies and have also been incorporated in various details.
By cutting the new house into two different sized volumes at the position of the indentation of the darkly coloured entrance, the whole volume creates a balance in its surroundings and functions as a guide from the Bosweg to the Lochemerberg.
